The information makes for interesting reading and identifies some of the many challenges our early church encountered, and the passion and faithfulness of many in the early congregations. We are blessed and proud of our past as we focus on God’s work in the future.

1771 – 1812

“The Journey Begins” charts the story of Francis Asbury’s horseback journey of nearly 350,000 miles across the American colonies preaching and converting thousands but specifically his travails in Mamaroneck, New York.
1812 – 1909

“Establishing a church in Mamaroneck” details the efforts of many devoted people and the setbacks encountered in establishing the first and subsequent church buildings including our current Gothic Revival building.
1909 – 1960

“The Church enters the Twentieth Century” with optimism and great faith.  The Rev. Burdette Brown wrote in 1913, “As the Mamaroneck Church enters the second century of her history may she also enter into a broadening influence for good…faith, hope, charitable love, sacrifices, benevolence, ministries will abound in the developing church.
1960 – 1990

“The Age of Disenchantment” started in the late 1960’s and brought decline in church membership throughout the country as young people became disenchanted with organized religion. 
1990 – 2000

“The Road to Restoration” began when the one-ton bell, which had hung within the steeple for 131 years, suddenly fell.
