Get Involved

Below we have included answers to various questions you may have about us and our ministries.  You may use the Read More button to explore more deeply to gain a fuller understanding.  Of course, the best way to get to know us is to Come, See and Meet the people of Mamaroneck United Methodist Church.

What We Believe
We believe that there is no higher calling and no more important purpose in life than the love of God above all things and the love of our neighbors.  Anything we can say about the Christian faith is ultimately a variation on this belief.  That is why it is the mission of our church, and that is why we have given ourselves primarily to this purpose.
We live in a time when words like “tradition” seem dated.  Yet for us, our tradition animates our present and informs our future.  Ours is a tradition of love, of service, of worship, and of hope.  These are, to us, timeless values that we long to offer in a world of rapid change and ambiguous convictions
Here at MUMC we have a robust music ministry. Music in a variety of forms helps us worship God including Adult Choir, Adult and Children Bell Choir; and Contemporary Band.
Expect to be warmly greeted at our two worship services each Sunday. The 8am–8:30am service is a brief communion service without music. While, the 10am–11am is the traditional worship service with hymns led by our choir.  After 10am worship, all are invited to join us at “Coffee Hour” a time of fellowship in the Lower Church Parlor. A great time meet the church family, begin to form friendships and feed our sweet tooth, as well!
Children Baptism
Baptism is one of the important milestones in the life of a family. It’s an occasion for joy and celebration and Mamaroneck United Methodist Church welcomes the opportunity to be part of that celebration.
Children Confirmation
Confirmation prepares young people to think more deeply about their faith journey and to commit to the Christian faith. Pre-confirmation classes for sixth through eighth grade youth are offered during the Sunday School hour, September through June.
The wedding service is a sacred event signifying the covenant made between two people, as well as between the couple and God. Mamaroneck United Methodist Church delights in participating in the joy and celebration of this holy event.
When a loved one dies, the family and friends are required to make many decisions. Our staff is available to help you plan the funeral or memorial service, and is available for services in the Church, at the Funeral Home, a graveside or other suitable location.
Connect – Be a Member or Participant
We hope that you will make MUMC your church home. If you are a member of another United Methodist Church or even another Christian denomination, your membership can be transferred to our church. Please contact the church office or call (914) 698-4343 so we can help you connect in this way.
Serve – Opportunities for Ministry
Serving with others is one of the best ways to get to know people and build meaningful, lasting relationships. There are several volunteer ministries at MUMC where you can serve inside or outside the church.
Grow – Christian Faith and Spiritual Growth
Christian education shapes lives.  We believe this, and so our programs of Christian Formation have as their goal the enriching and transforming of lives.
